The House Build
We have completed erecting the steel framework for the extension of the gallery floor. Once the floors and ceiling are boarded and the stud work walls are in place, this will form the bedrooms in the house. Our aim is to complete these rooms first. On the ground floor we have put a block wall in the north aisle arch forming the only ground floor internal wall. To our expense we have chosen to use concrete blocks as this method leaves the stone pillars and arch intact preventing the need for ‘tying in’. In the future if necessary this wall and steel-work could be dismantled having no lasting effect to the integrity and character of the building.
