the apple tree in august
A robust looking apple tree this month, in full leaf. The tree’s one and only apple is still there and has grown despite being nibbled in various places. The buds of the ivy flowers on are emerging and the blackberries that scramble up the tree are ripening. Summer is flying by at hyper speed…it’s hard to keep up!…

Fred’s 2 peak challenge
Fred undertook a personal challenge of conquering the summits of Snowdon and Cnicht in two consecutive days and raising money for Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust’s Dolforwyn Woods Appeal. The grass in the churchyard has had its early summer cut. James who cuts the grass has been very considerate and left clumps of wildflowers to grow and set seed. Image of the Week #92

the apple tree – june
There is something strange happening to the apple tree in the churchyard this month. After being smothered in beautiful blossom, the leaves are now turning brown! This does not seem at all right. There are no little apples forming which would be expected by now. It almost looks like blight, but I’m not sure if apple trees get…
