Showing it as it is… 2014
In January of last year, I posted about ‘showing it as it is’ and revealing the not quite so tidy bits of the church which don’t normally make it onto the blog. It featured two full length shots looking over the pews with all our possessions stacked in a seemingly chaotic jumble. I wanted to record this as a way…

The end of the Cedar
There was a lot of activity in the churchyard last week, as a large Cedar tree was cut down. The churchyard is maintained by St Mary’s Parish Council, so they instructed a…

We are having a very busy week, preparing for Saturday’s Open Day. The church has been swept and tidied up, information panels updated and added too and all the displays set up. We were prompted to do this a little ahead of schedule, as we had a visit yesterday from Penybontfawr WI. As part of their summer trip, they came…

Roses
Along side the south aisle of the church runs a flower bed, planted up I believe, by the Head Gardener of Powis Castle many years ago. Next to this flower bed lies the Herbert family tombs, including three of the Earls. At this time of year it looks beautiful, full of pinks and whites. The roses always stand out and…
