This embroidered picture has been hanging in the south porch for longer than we’ve been here. We have started to restore the interior of the porch so the picture was taken down. Christ Church – 170 years!
Today marks the 170th anniversary of Christ Church as a consecrated church. This morning the sun was streaming through the three stained glass windows in the Apse and as these are a visual reference to the dedication of the church as Christ Church, it seems fitting to feature them today. 200 years old!
The organ gets a little overlooked as it sits tucked away in a corner of the church, and only really comes into its own during an open day when it gets played if we are fortunate enough to be visited by someone talented enough to actually play it! We realised this week that we have missed its 200th birthday!…

History Fair
We will be at Welshpool’s History Fair, this Saturday 28th June, in the Corn Exchange from 10am. There will be lots of stands representing local history groups and organisations. We hope to see you there!

This week we have been putting together a leaflet for the ‘Discovering Gravestones Trail’, which we are launching next Sunday 8th June at our Open Day (10am – 5pm).
