Repair work
We had a very busy weekend doing some high level repairs and pointing work with the help of a cherry picker. We focused on the exposed finials on the South side of the church as we haven’t been able to reach them on previous visits up there!
There were a lot of holes and cracks to fill. The harsh winter definitely left it’s mark on the building with lots of evidence of snow and ice damage.
It’s always nerve wracking going up to those exposed heights but filling in the gaps with lime mortar is very satisfying… as long as you don’t look down!
However the views are rather splendid up there and do help take your mind off your precarious situation.
