I had a lovely evening last night talking to Pontrobert WI about our restoration work here at Christ Church. Thank you ladies for the warm welcome. Its lovely to be invited to share our story and its interesting for us to get feedback on what we’re doing, especially when our story is received with such enthusiasm. Thank you!

Talk to Mothers Union
I was invited to Pontrobert Mothers Union to share with them our story of our work here at Christ Church. I had a very warm welcome and I was rewarded with some delicious cake! Thank you ladies for your invitation and for your enthusiasm for our project. Next week its off to Pontrobert WI!

Our ‘Secret’ Garden
Our garden is really beginning to bloom and is looking quite mature. Though with all this rain and high winds its hard to enjoy it at the moment. I’m sure Lady Violet would have appreciated it when she used to attend Christ Church as its situated at the gate where the Powis family entered the church yard.

Room 2 finished!
The second bedroom is now finished. The walls have been painted in Farrow & Ball’s ‘Shaded White’ and the woodwork in Little Greene’s ‘Lead Colour’. The doors were ebay salvage, as were the bakelite door handles. This will become Fred and Victor’s room, though at the moment its too unsafe up there for them to use it. We are slowly…

A record breaking day!

Door finds its home.
The house ‘end’ of the church is becoming more defined as the partition wall has become plaster boarded. Its great to see the details within the wall, such as the window and door reveals, emerging.
