Things that BUZZ!
At this time of year there are lots of insects flying around, including bees. One thing that I noticed was that some of them looked different to others. Here are some of the ones I saw. My favourite ones were the White-tailed bumblebee and the Tawny mining bee. Victor’s Wonderful Wildlife: Part 4

The Blackbird’s new nest
This week we found a blackbird’s nest in a bush in the churchyard. I carefully crept in and took this photo. Did you know that it is the female blackbird that creates the nest. Hopefully I will hear the sound of chicks soon. Victor’s Wonderful Wildlife: Part 3

Bee-Flies
I was in the garden getting some flowers when I saw a type of fly which looked just like a bee. It had a very long tongue and it was flying to a flower sticking its tongue into the flowers to get the nectar. I recorded this video to show you what I saw. I searched it up on the…

In a week that has seen huge change just about everywhere, we have needed to make some changes to our public access due to the coronavirus outbreak; whilst still providing a friendly smile! We will be maintaining our usual opening hours, Fridays 12-3 pm and the first Sunday of the month 1-4 pm for as long as it is possible.…
