the apple tree in august
A robust looking apple tree this month, in full leaf. The tree’s one and only apple is still there and has grown despite being nibbled in various places. The buds of the ivy flowers on are emerging and the blackberries that scramble up the tree are ripening. Summer is flying by at hyper speed…it’s hard to keep up!…

Fred’s 2 peak challenge
Fred undertook a personal challenge of conquering the summits of Snowdon and Cnicht in two consecutive days and raising money for Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust’s Dolforwyn Woods Appeal. Beddgelert This past week we’ve been away holidaying in the mountains of Snowdonia. We hauled the caravan to Beddgelert and enjoyed days of walking up and down mountains, exploring castles, cycling in forests, flying over slate quarries (for some of us!) and running through the waves on the beach. Fred is gearing up for his personal challenge to hike up two of Wales’ major mountains in two days – quite an undertaking for a 9 year old!
