Roll on Spring.
If, like us, you are suffering with the January blues (most of us here are laid up with flu), then this week’s Image of the Week is for you. A sign that Spring is on the way… snowdrops beginning to make their appearance in the graveyard.

Lady Violet’s Window
This week’s Image of the Week is of the stained glass window in memory of Lady Violet which was erected by her husband, George Herbert, the 4th Earl of Powis. A recent Twitter conversation with our rather grand neighbours, Powis Castle prompted me to use this as Image of the Week. They are a great ‘follow’ and have been my…

Showing it as it is!
To mark the beginning of a New Year, I have taken two pictures, looking at either end of the church, and showing how we live now. I’m really hoping that these views will change dramatically over the next 12 months. I will take two more pictures in Jan 2014 and we can play ‘spot the difference’! Before we get to…

A Fleeting Moment
Over the past few days we have been clearing and sweeping, getting a ‘Christmas Area’ ready. I love these days, Karl hates them! I just had to post a picture of this clear space, as these are fleeting moments. Nothing stays clear for long round here, in fact barely long enough for me to take this picture. This space will…

On this day…
120 years ago today, the birth of Percy Robert Herbert, Viscount Clive of Powis Castle, was greeted by the bells being rung at St Mary’s and much rejoicing in the town. One of our favourite windows here is dedicated to his memory and was featured as Image of the Week #8. Happy Birthday!
