Christ Church – 170 years!
Today marks the 170th anniversary of Christ Church as a consecrated church. This morning the sun was streaming through the three stained glass windows in the Apse and as these are a visual reference to the dedication of the church as Christ Church, it seems fitting to feature them today. We’ve been standing near this window all day today welcoming visitors to the church for our open day. It’s been wonderful seeing familiar faces who continue to support us to see how we’re getting on, and welcoming new visitors who become enchanted by this beautiful building! We will be open this Sunday 7th September, 10am – 5pm. We are looking forward to welcoming you to view the interior of the nave and see how our restoration work is progressing. Also available is the ‘Discovering Gravestones Trail’ to learn more of the interesting gravestones in the churchyard.
